The Legal Services Internship at the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is a 12 to 24-month programme aimed at providing recent graduates with practical, hands-on experience in the legal aspects of the construction industry. As an intern, you will be exposed to various legal processes, supporting the Legal Department in managing contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters.This internship will involve providing legal support in diverse areas such as contract law, dispute resolution, and legislative compliance, with a focus on ensuring that CIDB’s operations are in line with South African law and regulations related to the construction sector

Responsibilities

• Legal Research & Analysis: Conducting research on legislation, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the construction industry
• Contract Review & Drafting: Assisting in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring CIDB's policies and procedures align with legal and regulatory requirements
• Litigation Support: Providing administrative assistance in legal proceedings, case preparation, and court filings
• Policy Development: Contributing to the development and review of CIDB’s legal policies and guideline

Qualifications

• Educational Background: National Diploma or Degree (NQF 6/7) in LLB, B
• Proc, or a related legal field
• Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old
• Employment Status: Must be currently unemployed and have not previously participated in an internship programme
